thank you, david

"Gali girls are the modern Jewish role models.  Kind and compassionate, vibrant and curious, beautiful and intelligent, strong and capable.  Learn to play the Jewish way with Gali girls."

david (whose URL i'd have inserted here if he'd IMed me back with it.  gr) heard that they're shomer.  i need to put an advisory here - anyone who is offended by skin showing between socks and skirts, please DO NOT LOOK.

also, the font keeps making "Gali" look like"Call" to my eye...  whoops.

I was ambivalent about this, so I sent the link to my wife to see what her reaction would be. Her reaction: she's queasy about the sleeves, but would otherwise be interested in buying this for our 3-year-old (who we both agreed would love it regardless).

why not take a regular (cheaper) doll and put a skirt and long sleeved shirt on it, if that's what you're looking for?
by "you" i don't mean to point this to daniel, just whoemever would see the need for a skirted/sleeved doll.

Agreed, and to clarify (although I understand not directed at me): my wife and I most certainly do *not* see the need for skirted, sleeved dolls by any stretch. Any appeal these things have for us relates to accessories like Shabbos candles. Our daughter has actually already pretended that her very conventionally undressed Barbie lights candles, says brachos, etc., so we thought "real" toy candles would be something she'd like. That's about it.

my barbies got married and had 100 children, by rather imaginative use of multiple multiple births.

I imagine we'll get there too, but she's only 3 (and Ken et al are nowhere to be found as yet).

Daniel -- A wise move. When my sister and I were around eight and ten, respectively, our mother found Barbie and Ken lying in Barbie's Dream Canopy Bed in a rather compromising position. It was not a happy day.
