geez

i have yet to talk to anyone in this city who would be interested in having the olympics here.  the commuting, the touristsm the security - it's all a logistical nihgtmare for those of us who would not be priveliged enough to be here with a golden ticket - the one that gets you into olympic village, which will be the least cramped part of the city.

unless of course NY does what it did for the RNC - shut down.  i don't know about you, but we did not have a lot of people in the office when that all went down.

*insert cursing here*

my sentiments exactly. it is TOO CROWDED here even without the rest of the world. i already feel like i need to signal right or left or stop or reverse when walking in the street, and just stretching smacks two people in the face! forget about driving. and i bet, like the US Open, most of the events will be in queens, where there's some grass. uch.
why do out of towners move here??! (sorry dani). do population density a favor and either move to montana (least dense state) or make aliyah! we need a selection- or self-selection like lemmings who drown themselves.
oh and the city has no money for the MTA and they can afford the olympics? think of the havoc it'll wreak on the subway system. sorry about venting like this but uchhhh i hate NYC!

maybe, maybe, maybe the 'revenue' will actually go to the MTA for better subway service. *tounge in cheek*
