No one ever persuades a sports fan that their loyalties are misplaced, and everyone is entitled to their preferences. I will also concede that Bosox fans have suffered disproportinately.* Having said all that, the following thoughts are offered purely as tongue-in-cheek/food-for-thought.
Do the following standard lines of Yankee-haters sound at all familiar?
    1. They have all the money.
    2. They are responsible for everything that's wrong with the entire sport of baseball, and maybe even beyond.
    3. Why do they ALWAYS win?**
    * Of course, the Sox were often undone by other teams (or by themselves), but to hear many Fenway faithful tell it, it was ALWAYS the "[___]" Yankees. Telling, no?
**Notwithstanding the gaudy number of titles tallied over a century, I can assure that from 1979-1995 (the relevant period of my most ardent baseball fandom), the Yankees won nothing at all, and often stunk, money notwitstanding (cf. current New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles).
    May the best team win.

    1. I don't.
    2. I do.
You have a sense of humor and are married to a Yankee fan, so how bad could you be?
Other Sox fans I've encountered are utterly humorless though, and it's really their mishugas that I had in mind.
