Movie - Bulletproof Monk

Genre - action movie based on a comic book (popular genre in our house)
Stars - Yun-Fat Chow, Seann William Scott, Jaime King (anyone see Sin City?)
Key Points - Nazis, Tibet, Secret Icantation of Immortality, Street Fighting
Points to Ponder - What was The Monk's name?  If he was bulletproof, was it because he protected the incantation, or by nature of his soul; why did he not die (of the wound he received in 1930s, minimally)when he passed along the responsibility?  What is the nature of one who can be entrusted with a holy mission (obviously it's not someone who possesses learning or humility)?

Frankly, Dani, I'm shocked. This movie was so bad even Seth Goldstein walked out of it, and he LOVES bad movies. I couldn't watch for more than approximately 3 minutes without wanting to pull my eyes from their sockets. Sorry.

    no!!!
it was so fun. i guess it's a home movie, not a theatre movie, but we had a blast watching it. the story line was basic, the fighting was well choreographed, and we just enjoyed it. it was brain blasting good time.
feel free to post more bad comments, though.

    This is Avraham:
I tried posting before...sorry if it didn't work.
Anyway, I thought the fight scenes were fun, and worthy of any campy Martial-Arts type of affair. It was nothing especially high-brow, but it never was meant to be.
The plotline of kid with "lots of potential" is a little overused. Granted, many of the Biblical Nevi'im started in the same sort of way, but, come on, I doubt Jeremiah was reading palms somewhere before he became a Licensed Prophet.

    Yaaaaaaaay! Which cult classic?
If you're into the Marital arts cinema, I would highly recommend a movie called Hero, starring Jet Li. In fact, if I can remember who has it, I'll lend it to you. Much fun.
Also, interesting about the Gladiator thing. I never saw it in the theater, but liked it fine enough at home. Not that I think Russell Crowe was so unbelievable, but it was entertaining. The only movie I ever walked out of was "A Walk in the Clouds" with Keanu and some random chick.

dude! that was a SHITTY movie! i saw it with Rena and whoever that guy was she was dating then (in Penn). he was cute. and Sara... where the hell were we all?
anyhow, i watched it cause the big kids took me to see it, but it was pretty dumb. in fact, it was my definitive lessen of what makes a bad movie.
