thoughts

my father just showed me a news item that was far more serious than anything i've been talking about lately (cardinals, the passion)...

nava applebaum's family used her weddding dress to make a parochet for kever rochel. i think that's beautiful.

(from the JTA)

(JTA) - Victim's dress becomes Torah cover

The wedding dress that an Israeli terror victim never got to wear was remade into a curtain for a Torah ark. A ceremony Thursday will mark the transformation of Nava Applebaum's dress, which will be used at Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem. At the ceremony, the Kever Rachel Fund will establish a fund for Israeli couples who are having trouble paying for a wedding and the costs of setting up a house. Applebaum was killed on the eve of her wedding, along with her father and five others, in a September 2003 suicide bombing at a Jerusalem cafe. Checks for the fund can be sent to Kever Rachel Fund, P.O. Box 1181, Teaneck, N.J., 07666.

back to less serious stuff, the fight rages on between mel gibson and abe foxman. so stupid... rumor has it that mel wants to make a new movie, this time about the maccabees, and some smart dude suggested he do bar kochba, and ... who cares? he'll do what he wnats, and we can't stop him, we can only aggravate the situation. why does it matter so much if he makes a ridicule of our history? don't we all watch (and secretly love) the 10 commandements, green goo and all?

ppl need to chill

thoughts for the day, and out...
