i believe that the red sox will win, as i believe that good will conquer evil. there is a wide-eyed full-hearted force inside me watching these games, much like i read sci-fi as a child. always, no matter how bad it may seem, the good guys will get a break. some secret hand will com, silently, nudging them ahead.
so, go sox. and may the force be with you.

ReplyDeleteAfter waiting all these years, it would be highly appropriate if they won in 4 games. And the Lunar Eclipse promises surprises...hopefully GOOD ones!

ReplyDeleteTrue that...it's definetly fairytaleish. Back in Boston we are used to dissapointment. Nobody is going to believe it until the last pitch.

ReplyDeleteClearly, a Bosox victory is the ratzon Hashem. All we can do is sit back and wait.

ReplyDeleteWell, Sox fans know not to "count chickens," but the Sox do seem to have things well in hand. I offer my genuine congratulations, as they have just played great clutch baseball for the vast majority of this season and postseason. Their long-suffering fans deserve nothing less.
Me(r), I'm always a little queasy about invoking ratzon hashem in relation to things like sporting event outcomes, although I suppose one could make the argument.
I guess one could equally argue that it was the ratzon hashem for the Yankees to win the WS 26 times since the Sox last won, and that Hashem grew displeased at the ona'as d'varim directed at the Bosox fans He created, especially those mean-spirited "1918" chants (which I never cared for, might I add).

ReplyDeleteI don't think the fans had anything to do with this. There is no reason to punish the Yankees merely because they are proponented by jerks.

ReplyDeleteActually, you're right -- the underreported story of the year may be the merit of the closet nezirus of Johnny Damon (although I thought he swigged in the clubhouse, at least).
